Yes, that's right, I just wrote over 8,500 words in one night. Are they good? Oh, hell no. This is probably the roughest draft I've ever created of ANYTHING, ever. But I got it all down, even ended the story, though I wound up summing up a lot. I don't care. I have lots of author's notes the whole way through with ideas for how to re-write. This thing is a goldmine that I will eventually turn into a finished draft. But it is 50K long, and a complete story from start to finish, and I am a whole two or three days ahead of the game.

I am free, FREE! (... to do work on school projects. Crap.)

Now I'm going to go collapse.

In conclusion: cousins I WIN. Thank you, and goodnight.

Thank you, thank you. *takes a bow and shows off spiffy icon* And you finished too, didn't you? Congrats!

You totally RAWK!!!!!

I'm really excited for you. :) And inspired. :) Even though I feel like there is not nearly enough time left in the month for me to even come close to 50k. I still have less than 8k to my name.

Silly wedding throwing everything off. :P I guess it's really not the best idea to try to nano the same month you're getting married. :)

That's what you get for getting married in November! Sheesh. You should've known better. ;-)

Thanks!! And don't worry about not finishing - 80% of participants don't! What's important is that you DID write. Go ahead and have fun with it, get done what you can, and promise both to yourself and the world at large that you'll keep writing until it's done. ;-)

Thanks! I'm thinking that I might start doing NaNo in alternate years from now on, or something to that effect... Or maybe challenging myself to do something different. But I dunno, the lure of NaNo will probably draw me in again next year. (Once I get to upper-level courses in University, things will definitely have to be brought to the table again. I had a tough enough time this year, with only ONE 7-10 page paper to write.)

Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] clawfoot has had to forego NaNo lately because of school commitments. I was really torn about doing it this year, but decided not to in the end. I have nothing fixed like University, but my life is just stupidly hectic these days. I kind of left it open to starting, but didn't have a moment in which to write for the first two weeks anyway.

My original plan this year was to finish in about half the month, which I probably could have done, but I'm a little bit glad that I just opted for a slightly more regular writing schedule throughout the whole month. I think that writing a little something every day is a goal I'm going to give myself for the next year. I'm not going to hold myself to any particularities, like only writing short stories, only writing to certain themes, or writing a certain number of words. Just... something. Every day.

Maybe next year your life won't be so hectic and you can make a grand return to the land of NaNo. If that's what you want to do. Or maybe some other interesting project will come along.

YAAAAAY CASS!!! WE DID IT!!! *dance!dance!dancies!*

And congrats on getting done ahead of time... 8K in one night?? Yowza, look out, hott stuff! ;-)

*shipoopies!!* (I totally know how to do that dance, by the way. Or at least my High School's version of it. We did a production of The Music Man when I was in grade 11, and it was awesome.)

Weeeeeeeee are the champions, my frieeeeend... *waving lighter back and forth*

Eight K. Eight horrible, horrible K. But I don't care. They finished the story, hammered out some important plot details (I hate prophecies. Why did I write a story with a prophecy?!) and gave me a reason to go on living. Yeehaw.
