Stretching the boundaries a bit
Sep. 30th, 2004 05:50 amWell, it's currently 6AM on September 30th, and I'm about 3,000 words away from my goal of 25,000 by the end of the month. I could probably hit the 25,000 mark before midnight, but it would mostly be writing I'm not all that proud of. This IS a first draft, and it will wind up getting completely re-written at some point, but I don't see much merit in pushing it just to say "I did it!" (Considering
chibiakki already won, you see. *laughs*)
So I've decided to extend my personal deadline a little - I'm still enjoying deadline writing, to keep me from procrastinating TOO badly - and have 25,000 words by no later than October 3rd (since I hadn't issued the challenge until September 3rd, anyway.) Ideally I'd like to actually finish the story by then, but I'll settle for having the first draft finished by the time I go back to work after my (abbreviated) weekend.
And then I need to start doing scary amounts of research and outlining for my NaNovel this year. Meep.
