My last post was in August. Alas, poor writing journal. You have succumbed to a thing we like to call "holy crap, school".
Not that I haven't written since then - I think I've done more essay work in the past four months than I did short story work in the whole preceeding year. I wonder, should I post my essays? Would anyone care? They got good marks, so they obviously don't suck too bad. It feels good to post something new and remember that I'm not a complete slacker.
I have two entirely attainable writing goals to meet before the end of the year:
1) Send in my holiday short story for the local newspaper's contest (500 word limit, due this Friday the 15th)
2) Finish preliminary editing of "Blue Goo", aka "Adventures in Boringville". I'd originally planned to have it ready to submit for publication by the end of the year, but school ate me (not that my lousy planning in the summer helped at all, mind.) I'll settle for "FINALLY done the first round of editing". I'll also extend my deadline to "the day before School starts" in January.
I might post the current draft of the Christmas story later today, but for now I promised myself I'd go back to essay-writing at the half-hour. Tootles!
