January Writing Prompt Challenge: Day 9

wordwhackerGood day today, outside adventures, tasty food and socialization with the one other person/household I'm allowed to see. Quick prompt pull!
DAY NINE PROMPT:
A fiery young soldier wants to reveal the good in / heal / fix a blighted grave, but they will have to keep a promise they have been avoiding.
I was listening to Gloryhammer on my way home, so I wanted an epic feeling thing that might work for a symphonic power metal band/song/scenario. Tempted to take the flip side of the conflict and have it be "but it will mean breaking a promise." I'm wondering why they're motivated to heal the grave - maybe they will get a blessing from it, or they think they will, that will help turn the tide of the war. The evil wizard is rolling over everything; they need an edge. But they promised someone that they wouldn't go off alone - a parent? A friend? A lover? But they don't see another way; they can't draw any undue attention to what they're doing. And maybe part of them doesn't want to share the blessing. There could be a sort of trial involved in getting there and healing the blight, and maybe they realize they can't do it alone. FRIENDSHIP PREVAILS!
Anyway it's silly as heck and fun.
