At what point, when I selected a humble file for use as an attachment, did the "cancel" button become the "oh, just go ahead and delete the whole file already!" button?

Thanks to you, 3,000 words of sloppy, badly written, extremely precious prose has been lost, never to be seen again. So you know what, bitch? I'm-a write down a synopsis, as detailed as I can make it, of what I wrote this evening that you stole. Then I'm-a count how many words that takes me, and add it to my overall total, which, by the way, I'm keeping at where it should be if it wasn't suspiciously missing that prose that you stole.

And then I'm never sending an attachment through you again, bitch.

much love can be found at www.openoffice.org :) it imports just about every file format you ever heard of, plus 3 more ;)
also, do a search of your hdd to see if there's files hiding that might be these snippets (use time as the search parameter)

I like to use RoughDraft, for some reason, since I have Microsoft Word happily working on my computer. I guess I just like RoughDraft better. Makes me feel special or something.

But ouch on the losing of precious text. Reminds me of yesterday, when I'd been writing for half an hour and them my rebooter spontaneously computed. Or the other way around; it's really hard to tell sometimes. Either way, I lost half an hour's work. >_

I figure, if I'm going to be writing at work, I might as well use Word. (I can't download anything else, anyway. Bah.) But either way, Lotus Notes is the real culprit, here - that's what randomly deleted my file. I'm just also mad at Word for apparently not having a backup, um, anywhere.)

Losing half an hour's work suuuuucks, especially if you really had a groove going. And since you re-started, you need all the word-count mojo you can get!
