My goal for the end of the day is 45,000 words, which means I'd have to write around 6,500 words to get there. I'll probably pick at it for another hour, then go have coffee with my folks, and then just sort of hack at it in little bursts throughout the day. (I could probably get away with writing a bit less, but I might as well aim high, eh?)
Besides, I want a bit of time to keep the spiffy green bar on the NaNo boards before I trade it in for an official "Winner!" purple one once I validate my novel.
I really think I'm going to take the whole month of December off, writing-wise. In fact, I have about eight million books that I'm half-way through that I should really finish, so maybe devoting December to them is an idea. (I could also stand to read some more kids books, so when I dig back into "Boringville" for editing in January, I'll be in the right headspace again.)
(Note to self: read lots of Terry Pratchett next month, especially his kids books.) I also need to read "Politics and the English Language" and re-read "Elements of Style".
