First work day of the new year (not counting the holiday, which was a different beast.) This whole week will probably be busy, and I may do a little overtime in the next couple of days. But it's time for ten minutes of prompt making!
I'm trying a different style this time, something called a "Circle of Fate."
DAY FOUR PROMPT:
A (wounded) Idol wants to win (over) a shape-shifter, but they will have to confront prejudice.
A (bitter) shape-shifter wants to deliver justice (to) an idol, but it will make a hypocrite of them.
I altered the deliver justice card slightly - it was (for/with) and I was like... no, we want to be making our Idol directly experience some justice I think.
This feels like a "monster hunter needs to come crawling to his former prey for help" situation, which could be fun. An idol in the sense that he's idolized for what he does - but he'll need to confront his assumptions and realize that his one-time foe is more complex than he wanted to imagine. And as for the shape-shifter... it would be very satisfying to make the idol pay, but if he's approached the shape-shifter in good faith, wouldn't that just make them into the monsters people believe them to be?
I like how the story circle helps create a tug of war between their wants. Very neat.
