That's right - I just wrote 7,000 words in one sitting. The funny thing is that I could easily keep going, but I need to do those silly things like "eat" and "go arrange songs for a gig next weekend" and "work". The good news (what, 7,000 words in one sitting wasn't good enough?!) is that my story has officially stepped up into high gear. Now it's just a matter of going through the motions, taking my characters through the rest of the plot, and praying to whatever deity will listen that I don't hit the end before 50,000 rolls around.

Chapters Four, Five and Six should be coming this evening. And myabe chapter seven, if I don't keel over first.

Heh. I remember doing that a couple of years back. Turned out really well, too, got my whole novel done between November 3 and Remembrance Day.

Of course it read like a novel written between November 3 and Remembrance Day....

Yikes! Way to go!

And here I am, still sitting at a little over 17500.

Of course, I don't care what it takes, I'm gluing my ass to this chair and making it to 25000 words by tomorrow, come hell or high water. Even if that means I have to pull another day of writing 7000 words, I will damn well do it!

Ria-chan, faito faito!

Big congrats on the writing jag, btw. There's something special about passing 20 000.

Now it's just a matter of going through the motions, taking my characters through the rest of the plot, and praying to whatever deity will listen that I don't hit the end before 50,000 rolls around.

So, in a nutshell, it's the usual process of Nanowrimo?

Thanks!

You'll get to 25,000, no problemo. Just sit down, relax, get a nice up of tea, and let the words sprinkle from your fingertips. Um, hopefully in order.

Passing 20,000 is sort of like passing a gallstone, only so, so much sweeter, and not quite so gut-wrenching to start with.

So, in a nutshell, it's the usual process of Nanowrimo?

Something like that, yeah. X-D

I do try.

Time to make some sugar-free hot chocolate and get on with it. No sense in wasting a good writing mood.

Hey, I just bought sugar-free hot chocolate today!

*pouting because I'm not in a good writing mood*

Oh well, if you feel like procrastinating later, I'll likely be online.

No, a good novel (like, for instance, the stuff you write) would read like it was written between November 3 and Remembrance Day of the following year.

Bah. My NaNovels definitely read like something that was written in about a week. While on drugs.

Maybe I can share the good-writing-mood love. *massaging temples and thinking in your direction*

I'll probably eventually slip into procrastination mode. At the moment I'm hoping to cling to the remnants of the insane writing mood from earlier today. My slightly ludicrous goal is to get to 30,000. My actual, sane goal is to get to 25,000, or write another chapter.

So, we'll judge your sanity, by how many words you reach by the time you reach procrastination? ;)

And, thanks for the good-writing-mood-magical-thought-vibes. I wonder how long it'll take them to travel 3k miles?

Passing a gallstone is much sweeter and more pleasant than passing a kidneystone.

...and that's a bad thing?

Pffft. Yeah right. I still have a little less than 6k to go.

Well, I may get it done tonight, but if I do, I'll end up avoiding my computer for days afterwards, making all my efforts moot. :p
